Katrina "Komatose"

It was my intention to post by September 1 but things don't always work out as they're planned. Katrina happened. We have all had a week of living in front of the television, absorbing (or, trying to absorb) all that we've heard and seen of the horrible devastation in our beautiful, historic New Orleans and all the other places along the SE coast.

As Katrina was approaching the coast, there was a great amount of interest among a group of people in our fair community for a Prayer Walk of our town. Now, in the aftermath of the Hurricane, we feel a greater need...even though we're many miles from the disaster. We are living in a world of extreme uncertainty and need to be prepared for the uncertainties of life. It is the desire of committed Christians that every street be walked and prayed over. Like all rural towns across the country, small businesses are fading away; young people are leaving for larger cities because of lack of opportunity; there are those that have serious and debilitating ailments; our schools and churches need prayer. The list goes on and on.

We have a city improvement organization that is fighting "tooth and toe-nail" for the survival, and even growth of My Hometown. My prayer for this group is that God will give them wisdom, discernment, creativeness, and the energy to complete their chosen tasks. I pray that they seek God's will and guidance for our community.

Jonah 4:11
....Should I not be concerned about that great city?
