Good Morning, World!

Good Morning, World! After two days of blessed rain the sun is beaming down on Munday, Texas. It is a gorgeous day. It brings new meaning to David's praise in Psalms 118:24: "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it".

The lawns are greening up, the trees are budding out, the birds are chirping and the squirrels are running amok! Did I just mention about 'lawns greening up'? That means that it's time to get out the yard equipment. In another few days, the curbs will need edging and the lawns will need a scalping. This gets to be a problem with those of us that just can't seem to do 'what they used to'. Their are a few enterprising people in the community that hire out for summer yard maintenance but it is getting more and more difficult to find them available. They are busy and are usually running behind. Looks to me like a good lawn service would do well in our community. Until that happens, we'll spend the summer nursing aching backs and shoulders.

I know nothing of consequence that is happening in Munday this week. It looks like this might be a good time to get out my walking shoes, grab my camera, and gather material for a new posting on the Life and Times of My Hometown.

Hi Jackie.
Way to go Munday. That was good use of the quote you had in there about getting off the train. Speaking of trains, they should have a train running parallel with the highway to Mexico. Then maybe there wouldn't be so many trucks wearing out our highways.

Keep up the good work. You incite hope for Munday folks. Munday is not dead.
