Homecoming2006: Munday Style

Every 4 years Munday comes alive with the anticipation of Homecoming. For months before the set date, our community is busying around, making plans, creating mail-out lists of ex-Mundayites, forming committees, and making our town beautiful.

Many activities are planned for a Friday and Saturday, making sure that every moment is filled with fun, food, and fellowship.

Beginning in the afternoon of September 29, early registration was held at the high school, followed by the first meal of the weekend....a Fish Fry sponsored by the

Munday Lion's Club. It was well attended, and I even heard that the attendance was so good that the Lions ran out of food! This is just hear-say, so don't hold me to my word. But, I do know that people came in droves to fill their stomachs with all that good fried fish!

A Pep Rally and Fireworks was held on the track field after the meal. The fireworks display was one of the most awesome ones I've ever witnessed! I tried to take pictures of some of the explosions of light but I just couldn't do it justice.

After the Pep Rally, many people gathered downtown for a Street Dance. I'm sure that some 'very good pictures' could be posted concerning the dance, but I chose to post only pictures of the Saturday morning Parade. The Parade Committee did an outstanding job of organizing this event. Hats off to Tyler Thompson, chairman of this committee!!!
