New Business In Town!!

Hello, everyone! The last time I posted, I wasn't planning on having a computer crash and off line for two weeks! But my computer guru and I survived the ordeal. I have always been warned to transfer anything I want to save to CD....or at least make a hard copy. Well......I didn't do it and I've lost everything I had on my computer!! My daughter has told me more than once..."Mom, you're going to wake up one morning and it's all going to be gone." and....that's exactly what happened. Now, tell me. How can you close your computer down one night, with everything in working order, and by the next morning it won't even boot up? To make a long story short, my computer guru ended up by re-installing Windows XP. He wanted me to believe it was a Bill Gates glitch because it's time to purchase the new Vista system! He was teasing, of course, but I wonder if this can't be partly true!

Anyway....folks, we survived and it's time to tell you about the newest, best thing in My Hometown. A few months ago, I posted that we had been approved for a Dollar General. It happened!! Saturday, March 17, was the Grand Opening! This new business is certainly an asset to My Hometown and surrounding communities. We love you, Dollar General!!

A few weeks ago, I posted about another wonderful business here, Buds for You, our local flower and gift shop. The first picture is that of Perry from Buds for You, delivering a plant to DG for their Grand Opening. I missed an earlier shot of Perry and Pat, loaded down with plants. Sorry, Pat!!

This is the front of the store at 8:30 a.m. The ribbon cutting wasn't scheduled until 8:45 a.m.

A group of four dignitaries. The wonderful, great looking, fifth guy on the right was a 'walk in'. He just happens to be my dignified husband!!

The Ribbon Cutting!
