Intuition vs. Useful Information

"Useful knowledge is a great support for intuition."
-Charles B. Rogers
.
My intuitive innards tell me we are in for the day. But more than intuition, I awoke early this morning with Butch, the Beagle sitting on the foot of the bed, staring out the window. I lay there for a while wondering what was going on but not wanting to get up.
.
I pretended to be asleep so that hubs would get up and put Butch in his kennel. Yes...the ploy worked. I lay there quietly, thinking I would go back to sleep, but that didn't happen. I was wide awake.
.
Even at this point, I didn't know what Butch had heard or seen. In our bedroom, we can't hear outside noises. I was awake so I got up to start the coffee.
.
We have a window over and behind our kitchen sink. As I was putting water in the coffee maker, I looked out the window and saw, rather than heard, rain falling on the driveway....what Butch had been hearing all along.
.
With the coffee making and Butch being put outside in the rain, I decided to add some useful knowledge to support my intuitive innards. I came to the 'nerve center' to see what is going to transpire throughout the day.
.
The useful knowledge is that heavy rain and thunderstorms, from the remnants of Tropical Storm Erin, have continued to take up residence in NC Texas. This is minor in comparison to what West Central is receiving. It is reported that rainfall amounts between 3 to 6 inches are impacting cities of Midland, Odessa, San Angelo, and Abilene (which is just 75 miles South of our area)
.
So far, all we're experiencing is a soft, steady rain with no wind and no thunder..though it looks like it's here to stay for a while. But, it's early yet. We'll see what daylight brings.

I always have the morning duty to let our beagles out & feed them; typically before anyone else gets up. So I smiled when I read that you pretended to sleep while your husband took care of Butch... I wonder now how many times has that happened to me?

p.s. Send some of that rain up here to Cincinnati!

We do not need a rain like some parts of Texas is getting, but I sure need some on my hay meadows.
You should not treat the man that gives you pedicures that way.

Guess it was kind of mean for me to treat hubs that way! But I assure you, this is a 50-50 relationship and the "ploy" will be returned!

I hope everything is OK there in Texas at your house! The news out of Texas hasn't been good at all.
