It is said, in some sectors of our society, that Christians use religion as a crutch; that we are weak and ignorant and need our religion to compensate for our weakness and ignorance.
Have you ever heard this? Some of you reading this post may even believe it.
Yesterday, I witnessed strength and power from a family that could only come from God, the Comforter, to all His children that are suffering and in anguish, in one way or another.
In my previous post, we were leaving to go to a funeral. Thirteen years ago, this young woman was diagnosed with melanoma cancer. With various treatments, it seemed to go into remission. Six months ago, it was back and spreading like wildfire, into every organ of her body. She was given a matter of days to live. She didn't give up. She fought it with a vengeance.
Her family made trips to visit her and when together, they always ended up in celebration. They laughed, played games, played jokes on each other, and they prayed. D led a very normal life up until the last few days of her life. Her mom prayed for her healing, and, in her strong faith knew that God would give them this miracle. She prayed for a miracle as her daughter was drawing her last breath.
On the last day of her life, D spoke only one word. That word was....mama. Her mother didn't get to the hospital until that night. When she walked into her daughter's room, the nurse said...."your mama's here" and it was at that moment that D left this life, with her mom still praying for a miracle of healing.
It was at that moment that she realized that they had all been living a miracle; a 6 month miracle. God gave D those 6 months to visit her family and to build memories for all of them. God gave them the miracle of a family drawing closer together and closer to Him.
No, it was not the desired answer the family was wanting. But in God's finite plans for the family, it was His will. As a family, their loved one will be missed. But they all recognize the hand of God in the 6 months that was given to them and realize the miracle as an act of God's love and mercy for them.
I believe the message in this is not to give up...never cease praying, even when your head knowledge is telling you one thing and your heart is telling you another! Though God may have different plans in our lives He doesn't want us to give up.

Ultimately, we will be the recipients of His blessings.
Regardless of what some may say,
we know from where our strength and power come!
Have a blessed day and look for your miracles!

Jackie God is good, we will never understand things like this until we meet him in our heavenly home. He does answer prayer & but his answer may be not we want.
May God Bless this Dear Saint's Family
