Thoughts

I'm finding it more difficult each day to separate the simple, love for home and family, content of my blog from that of the world. The woes of our society, interlacing with the political issues of the world, are permeating even our simple, easy going lives here in our little hometown. Maybe I should say "my life". Hopefully, there aren't many like myself!

I find myself, without understanding why, having feelings of apprehension and foreboding. Well....maybe I do understand why! I'm sure much of this feeling comes from seeing too much and hearing too much news. And, too, what is disturbing to me, is I'm not even shocked anymore at what I hear or see. The subjects of our news programs have become so common place that I have begun to be accepting of acts and behaviors that once were despicable.

"Ho-hum!....wonder what's going on in the life of Britney today?"

"Wonder who'll be tasered today?"

"Guess there'll be another child murdered or abducted today....wonder who it will be?"

"O.J.....what will he do today that's going to entertain us?"

and on, and on, and on.

I've been attending a Bible Study, once a week, for the past 9 weeks. I posted about it when we began....Calm My Anxious Heart. It is such a good book. This morning's lesson was on the meaning of having faith and believing God's promises.

And, that's my problem. I say I have faith. I say I believe God. Well....if this is true, why do I have the feelings that I do?

I think I need to put to practice what I preach!

Another thing I need to remember is that what we see and hear on the Idiot Box about people is a small minority of our population. Our world is filled with good, God-fearing, hard working, morally uplifting people that aren't "newsworthy"....they are the ones of persevere!

Oh! and another thing! Lack of sleep is also instrumental in making a person apprehensive and have feelings of foreboding! (the story of my life this past week)

What I really needed for posting today was a "Wordless Wednesday"!

There are PLENTY of good news to report out there, the problem is this - nobody buys a newspaper to read that everything is fine. On the politicos side of the house, there is a large group of them I totally ignore - if they come up on the radio or television, I simply change the station [I will post a list with names on my blog and there will be some surprises]. During my three decades of active duty military service I learned the art of Ignoring! Have a fine Texas evening.

I keep telling Mike that I was happier before I knew of all the crap going on in the world...
and I threaten all the time that I am just going to go back to burying my little head...

he tells me that I can't do it..
I need to keep informing my friends and family..
keep people writing or calling their representatives...

but ..
I WAS HAPPIER WHEN I WORKED A MILLION HOURS AND WAS TOO BUSY TO KNOW WHAT WHAT HAPPENING IN THE REAL WORLD...

BUT, then the real world happened when Matthew was born...
and I saw what it was like in the "real world".. now I'm home all day ..

I don't know what to do..
I just pray my bupp cheeps off...
PRAY PRAY PRAY TO GOD IN HEAVEN..

It is true.. so many people that work full time and have kids..
they don't have a clue at how sneaky our politician are... they vote for the cutest guy...yada yada...

I am not sure if we can make a difference...
I feel that most of my emails/calls go without a care...
I get the same ole form letters from our Senators and Congressmen..

I may go back to my "pink bubble"...

there are some real nice people out in this old world , but we need to be informed about the bad one's so we can keep a watch. i guess nice people do not help the sales of the news media

There are plenty of good things in the world. Most people just tend to focus on all the bad news. It's why TV news tends to focus on bad stuff, because it gets more ratings. But a lot of good things do happen. Read a newspaper, or a magazine. Turn to stories of inspiration or improvements. Or just pay attention to the world right around you.
