FaithWeaver Friends is a kid magnet! Kids all love Friends! It is a volunteer-friendly, easy-to-do program that makes child evangelism natural and fun....and this is what I'm committed to every Tuesday afternoon.

Designed as a children’s midweek Bible curriculum, FaithWeaver Friends is so flexible that churches use it as children’s midweek Bible curriculum… Sunday school…and as a children’s Bible club curriculum.

Engaging Discovery Center activities and caring small groups build strong kid-to-kid and adult-to-kid relationships. And kid-friendly service projects get kids serving others.

Every Tuesday, the volunteers for this after school program meet and plan for that day's program. We are under the leadership of an awesome young woman who is an inspiration in herself. She molds the kids as well as the volunteers into reflections of God....at least for a couple of hours on Tuesdays!

There are two buses that bring the kids from the school to the church. The children arrive all keyed up and raring to go. Through singing and sharing, their energy levels are decreased somewhat, so that Tammie can gain their attention. From that moment, it is non-stop for a little over an hour, traveling from station to station to the finale of journaling in their workbooks.

The bible story is always acted out by a group of kids in pantomime as the story is audibly projected from our multimedia system. The kids range in age from Kindergarten through 3rd grade....and, they are incredible! These kids are so uninhibited and natural. And, to pantomime the story, they have to be good listeners.

Today's story was about King David and his sons Amnon and Absalom. At the news of the death of Amnon, King David wept.

Oh, my! To see those kids act this out makes me speechless!

It humbles me to see these children grow in respect for their leaders, for each other, and to God. Today was just the 4th week of this school year. By the end of this year, these kids will have matured to a level that will be unrecognizable compared to today.

I have thankful that at my age, I have the health, energy, and interest to do my part in helping to "train these kids in the way they should go".

YOU & YOUR FRIENDS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. THIS MAY BE THE ONLY EXPOSURE TO CHRISTIANITY SOME OF THESE KIDS WILL EVER GET.
Yes, good work. I have many friends who are open because they've been to Sunday School. If you don't reach out to them here, the moment will pass, and it'll be much harder next time. you're planting the seed. Good work :-) And know what? The kids will remember you, many years in the future. They'll be your legacy....
crabby: You may be right about Christian exposure. In working in a ministry such as this, you can only hope and pray there will be lasting effects.
-eve=: Thanks for your kind comment. It's comforting and encouraging to think about "a legacy..."
Isn't God good?
