Wow, I love that statue. What better statue to put in a park than one of kids having fun. In El Paso, we started a project called the "12 Travellers". They are a set of 12 bronze statues commemorating historical visitors to our city that pretty much shaped our town. So far we have Fray Garcia (a monk that established several missions along the border) and the Equestrian (formerly known as Don Juan De Onate till the PC police had the city change the name).
I like the idea of telling history with our statues, but I like the idea of children better ... because aren't they the ones that will shape our future?
