Mike M is an entertainer, of sorts. He could adequately be tagged an entrepreneur of the blogosphere. On his blog he keeps some of the most interesting things in progress that are designed to keep blogging communities united and hanging together...or so that's the way it seems to me.
.
I have been keeping up with him for over a year, and in that year I've taken character tests, IQ tests, all kinds of surveys of various subjects, tried my luck on all sorts of puzzles. I have laid on my side, stood on my head, looked from down to up, trying to figure out what a highly magnified part of an object is. (and, by the way, I've never guessed right!)
.
This fellow appears to be a warm, encouraging sort of person....the kind that says 'you can' when you are saying 'I can't! Sometimes he could be known saying "You will" when you're saying "I won't!' !I know this from personal experience through his brain child of "The Experiment".
.
The most recent thing he has tagged me to do is to write about an age in my life to which I would like to go back.
.
Mike is going to be disappointed in this tag because....because....there's NOT an age in my life that I would ever want to go back to. I reminisce about the decade of innocence, during the '50s, in which my group grew up. There will never be another like it. But I definitely don't want to go back. I made too many errors in judgment and if I went back, I would probably make the same mistakes again.
.
Would I want to go back to my pre-teen years? No. The only thing I would change at that age is to try to take more interest in my dad's business. He was a plumber/electrician and was the best, most reliable person in the community. I wish I had found the opportunity to hang around him more and learn a few plumbing/electric skills that I could be using at this time in my life. But what kid is concerned about learning life skills?
.
Returning to young married life? NEVER! It has taken 50 years to meld our differences into what we can live with together and, even at that, we could definitely use more 'melding';
.
So, the moral of all this is 'be happy in the age you are'. Make the most of each day. Use the past only to enhance the present. Treasure your heritage but don't bury yourself with it. Enjoy the moment.
.
Now, for the instructions!

Good post as usual, and talking about going back, well, if I had to do it all over I would not change a thing! Have a productive week and talk to you in a few days.

cfs: Have a safe trip!
wht: Yes, it's a subject that can't be whipped out lightly! It does take some thinking!!
weevilmaw: Yep! I did!
terri: we ALL have our regrets in one way or another. Move on!
I love Mike's work too - he challenges me so often, as well as making me laugh.
I suspect it is a sign of a life appreciated and well lived that you don't have a time you want to go back to.
