My List

Inspired's list of 2008 Needed Improvements:

I: I need to be more Immaculate in keeping my home.

N: I need to be less Neglectful of my 'good intentions'.

S: I need to be more Supportive of those in the community who have problems.

P: I need more Patience in aggravating circumstances.

I: I would like to be more of an "Impassioned Impeller"; to urge apathetic people to some course of action, both spiritually and politically.

R: I want to Read more. My "Paladin" Daughter gave me a wonderful book for Christmas...."Rhett Butler's People" by Donald McCaig....and it's a big, thick book!!

E: Exercise....exercise....exercise!

D: Diet....diet....diet!

Please note that I didn't call this list "New Year's Resolutions". The resolutions that I make usually last about 3 days....if that long!
These are needs that I recognize in myself of which I need to develop some semblance of discipline and strong will.

In the words of Sheila Gosney, the Christian poet:

"Faith in the Master makes us read His promises
in the context of our lives for His call.
And we are held in the assurance that God holds the future
and He's truly in charge of it all."

Though I truly believe that God is in charge of it all, I also believe He created us with minds to choose what He desires for us...and, what we desire in ourselves.

So...in 2008, I choose to make some changes that will make me a happier, more creative, more productive person, that, in turn, will make me a more spiritual and influential woman of God.

crabby, "I'm Impressed"!

You've gotten those creative juices flowing! This encourages me to make a sincere effort to make my improvements for 2008.

I agree...it's time to make that 'short drive'. Just don't know exact day (or month) yet.

Hang with us!!

Happy New Year 2008 to YOU, YOUR family, and friends. I like your listing, and I will try to keep up with D and E [I did a good job at both during 2007]. Have a nice TEXAS day.

All the things you listed.. No, you don't. You are a good person, doing good things. Don't drive yourself to achieve more- spend a little time enjoying who you are...

Your list puts all of ours to shame *i didn't even do one*, inspired. The lesson you're given here is to be selfless; just like our prayers, our thoughts and lives should involve others, I guess... :-) Well done, inspired. May 2008 be a wonderful year for you :-)

I really messed up on d and e during '07! I need to get back to feel my best. Thanks for the encouragement.

You are much too kind!! Thanks for your continued support and encouragement. And, yes...I can stand some improvement in all areas (especially d and e) but never fear...I don't think over-achieving will be a problem.

A very Happy New Year to you both!!

What a great list. Happy New Year to you and yours - I hope that you can make 2008 everything you need it to be. I hear you on d & e - just remember one day at a time, and don't beat yourself up when you aren't measuring up to your expectations every day.

Thanks! and, Happy New Year to you. I may be whining and crying on your blog, wanting/needing more encouragement from you. Yes, I'm a whiz at beating myself with a cat-o'-nine-tails when I fail at a task. But I'll remember your comment....
