I have a bad habit.....a really bad habit, of using the word "someday".
Someday, I'm going to get my house all clean and orderly and keep it that way!
Someday, I'm going to have a beautiful, manicured lawn with gorgeous rose bushes.
Someday, we're going to get our house painted.
Someday, I'm going to be wearing those size 10 jeans again!
Someday, I'm going to do this, or I'm going to do that.
Today is Thursday...the day our weekly paper comes in the mail. Living in a small town, by the time the paper is published, you already know all the news so it becomes habit to immediately turn to page two and read View From the Pew by Brett Dobbs. Brett is the young, minister man that I've posted about before. And he always has a great message.

His column this week was his message to the graduating seniors. But it doesn't matter if you're a senior of 18 or a senior of 68 if his words speak to you.
In his column he mentions several lessons that he's learned in his life and ends with the last lesson:
"And the last lesson I have learned, we were never promised time, we were never promised tomorrow. Someday is a myth, not a point of time. Today is all you may have; don't waste it reflecting on yesterday or dreaming about "someday".
Yes, we all know we're not promised a tomorrow but we still use that word SOMEDAY!
I think I'll be thinking twice when that word comes into my conversation again.
Until next week, Brett!

I'm not so much a someday as a "I'm gonna ..." but your post speaks just as well to that bad habit of mine.
Thanks
