I learned that in debate or speeches of persuasion, or in writing, that you NEVER use the word NEVER and you never use the word ALWAYS.....unless using them proves God's truth!
1. never: at no time; not ever.
2. in no way or degree; not at all
1. always: at all times; on every occasion; invariably
2. all the time; continuously
In listening to our presidential candidates deliver their speeches, they invariably use the word "never" and "always". He NEVER did this; he NEVER did that; he's ALWAYS doing this; he's ALWAYS doing that.
Can't they learn that these words can be easily disproved, if only by one instance? And then they are left open to the other side with accusations of lying and therefore being discredited?
It looks like the writers of these speeches would take notice.
And, yes, I've been guilty of using "never", when what I really mean is "seldom". But I'm not the one being scrutinized by every word and gesture.
I've already confessed...I'm not a political pundit. But this has nothing to do with politics.
In my opinion, it's just good old common sense.
And this is my rant for Friday....and, I never rant on a Friday!!

I NEVER turn on my computer or TV before I do my devotional...unless of course I want to hear more Palin. So...I'm turning them off now and checking out God's word.
LOL! You're a hoot, but you do make a great point, hon. :)
I'm baking brownies for the congregation after church tomorrow and I'd better go keep a close eye on them because I always burn them. Oops!

The word "always" sometimes prefaces an accusation.
Or that's what I've noticed.
I'm trying to be careful not to use that "always" word...and to watch my heart.
(Loved your "never" and "always" rules!)
