The Beginning.
The beginning of Stock Show season.
Concession stand. Inconvenience. Crowded. Too few electrical outlets. Too little counter space.
Great way of funding our county Extension, Education organization.
Kids run around with too much money in their pockets and they don't mind spending it. Never fear, we'll take it in return for a Frito Pie, a dill pickle, a BBQ sandwich, or a brownie.
Pigs, sheep, goats, steers....groomed and ready for show. Proud moms and dads watching their kids in the show ring.
Busy Friday and Saturday. Long hours.
Good sleep at night.
I was just fantasizing about this life style being in my past when we retired. It's here to stay...as long as I'm physically able.
It's a great life if you don't weaken....and it's my intentions to stay strong!
Peace to your household...

I miss the stock shows going with our daughter when she was in 4-H& FFA. Of course I wasn't working like Ur talking about.
Peace to Ur HOUSE & hang TUFF
you have a way of making that concession stand food sound so good!
I'm afraid that my concession days won't be over for a LONG, LONG time!!!
Inspired, sounds somewhat like our Common Ground Fair...I don't think it cost anything to go but the kids love it.....The Big Fair we go to is Blue Hill Fair located down Maine.......in September......What is frito pie????Sounds great,......Also...although I realize your very busy now,,,I'm surprised you did not post on the Hand of God in the Hudson River plane crash.......He certainly was holding that aircraft in his hands...stay well.....

Mr. Tap: this will really surprise you! I have been so busy the past month, I haven't even had time to complete all my laundry at one time! When I think I'm about caught up, something else pops up that needs attention.
I haven't even seen a full report of the plane crash. I'm thinking this has GOT to cease. I'm ready to look for a full time paying job. Retirement and what it entails is a killer.
I'm glad you stopped by. At least you're o.k...Take care and stay dry and warm!
You said "Retirement and what it entails is a killer!" Problem is, it usually kills those who sit on their butts after retirement and don't do anything. You keeping really active is the best thing for you.
We work hard on this farm too, but we are stronger for it and so are you! Have fun at the stock show. :)
inspired if you are really looking for a full time paying job
I am looking for a tractor driver
Are you interested??????????
Coon Dog
What I remember about stock shows is "IT WAS ALWAYS COLD, DIRTY AND SMELLY". Not something I ever enjoyed.
