Word Of The Day

Word of the Day

taciturn \TAS-uh-turn\, adjective:
Habitually silent; not inclined to talk.
Habitually silent.

That I am not!

I'm practicing to listen more and speak less. It's really surprising what you can learn just by the art of being a good listener.

Proverbs 18:16
"The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge; the ears of the wise seek it out." NIV

How can I acquire knowledge if I'm the one doing the talking?

My desire is to gain more knowledge through silence and use my ears to seek it out.
Have a good day!

O this is soooo NOT me! Others prolly wish it, but it's not! And you are a bit of this...introspective, measured and deliberate when you share! Yep, this could be you in a nutshell!

I've been told all my life that I'm a great listener. Complete strangers often tell me things I don't want to know about their personal lives. Even going through a checkout counter at the grocery store not long ago the clerk told me all about the problems she was having with her alcoholic husband! Geez! Being a good listener may be a bit overrated, hon. My best friends talk constantly because they know I'll listen and not tell tales. I carry around a lot of other people's secrets. If I were a blackmailer I would make a fortune. LOL!
