A Poem of Thought

I was shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.
But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp--
.
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics and the trash.
There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money! twice.
.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.
Herb, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.
.
I nudged Jesus, 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.
'And why's everyone so quiet,
So somber - give me a clue.'
.
'Hush, child,' He said, 'they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you.'

JUDGE NOT. Remember...Just going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car .
Every saint has a PAST...
Every sinner has a FUTURE

Good punchline.

I also like this phrase, "Every saint has a PAST...Every sinner has a FUTURE". It gives me hope ;-)

As I have always maintained.....Judge not, that you may be judged.....Its easy to throw stones, but not if you live in glass houses.....stay well.....

Never hurts to be reminded we ain't to be doin tha judgin! My Daddy always said "When ya point a finger at someone, there are three pointin back at yourself"!
There is so much good in the worst of us; So much bad in the best of us; That it behooves all of us not to talk about the rest of us!

Jackie, Thanks for stopping by.. I and mine have been vacationing in Maine and a neighbor has been quite ill following artery replacement. She is still not out of the woods and recently suffered heart failure. She is recovering and she many people have remembered her in their prayers If it is his will, she will fully recover. She and hers are Christians who minister to a small group in their own church. They are interdenominational with a Salvatioist leaning. Keep the Faith and keep blogging....stay well
