Ramblings of February...

The month of February has passed me by.  In spite of the drastic changes in temperature, I still see the promise of Spring.  The jonquils have begun to bloom even though the leaves are wilted and brown.  What can you expect with having the temperatures drop 50 degrees in 24 hours.  Yesterday, this area broke a record for February with temperatures zooming into the upper 80's and lower 90's.  Today the high is reported to be in the lower 60's....cool enough for a warm jacket.

The days continue to be busy.  Tax time is approaching and we've been frantically getting our business in order to turn over to our accountant.  After all, the Government needs every penny that can be squeezed from our meager holdings.

Volunteer activities seem to increase on a daily basis...so many people in need and it appears that there really is so little we can accomplish.  But we do what we can.

On the political scene...I am clueless.  All I have to rely on is the Word of God that He shared with the great prophets in the Old Testament.  I continue to hold firm and support Israel...God's chosen people.

On the homefront, our little community has it's problems also; too many factions with different ideas of how to solve these issues and not much agreement among our people.  If small communities have these problems, how can we expect any more in our government leadership?

This weekend we had another successful, amazing Quilt Show.  In this area, there are many people who pull together to have an event that brings pride to our connective communities. It was held at the Knox Prairie Events Center, Goree, Texas; a small community 6 miles to the east of our town. Goree lost their school a few years ago and a group of very committed citizens joined together to turn the school into an event center for the county.  It has been a tremendous success!

Tomorrow! Beginning of another month! I wonder what God has in store for us...maybe the surprise will be awesome, good news!

Peace be to all...
