A Few Hours of Tranquility!

Hebrews 13:8 (The Message)
"For Jesus doesn't change---yesterday, today, tomorrow, he's always totally himself."

It is comforting to know that Jesus was, is, and will be the same. When you are fortunate enough to have earthly friends that have always, and continue to be, the same, you are extremely fortunate. We made our little trip to visit our friends in East Texas. They have been a part of our life for over 30 years. They know our weaknesses, our failures, our "detours in life", and have continued to love us 'in spite of'!

The few hours we had with them were invigorating and uplifting.

This is the private road that winds up to their home, nestled among piney woods. It was indeed a few hours of tranquility and peace....no Lebanon, no Israel, no T.V. whatsoever (our choice), no telephones, no Hillary or other crackpots of the media.

This is the sign that is posted outside their front door:

Life is short and full of trouble,

But let us make

Our home happy

And love each other.

Kneel at the Cross.

Jesus will meet you there.

The mailbox at the entrance of "the haven of rest" would give anyone a 'clue' that these people are patriotic. Being a Viet Nam veteran, he is patriotic and loyal to his country from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet.

We feel safe and comfortable in the presence of these dear friends.

They love their home and will defend it to the death....which is what my journal is about. The goal of my journal is to promote Love of Home and Love of God. It's my prayer that my goal is reached.

If you noticed, I wasn't wearing glasses at all! But knowing your "off the wall" responses, you'll probably come back with me "being blind as a bat!"

Regardless...I know what I know!

I'd like to get lost at the end of that road for awhile. How beautiful and inviting.
