Eleven months ago, in the middle of August, this is what our back yard looked like....flooded from one of the heaviest rains I had seen in a very long time.
In the midst of a severe drought, this picture seems like a dream. For the past week, our area has been in a heat alert, with temperatures of 105 degrees to 107 degrees.
Our lawns are yellowed and dry. We've had promises of rain with huge, dark clouds hovering
over and around us but they've moved to the north and they've moved to the south, missing our area altogether. But, you know what? When God, the Great Controller of our weather, gets ready for us to be blessed with rain, it will happen! We need not fear, we need not complain, gripe, or whine. God is in control.
I keep thinking that there are others that are possibly blessed by the heat and drought....like our neighbors in Goree who own Trainham Ice Co! I'll bet they're hauling that ice all over the country!!
Well...I'll go watch the weather channel and listen to the forecasts for the upcoming week!
God Bless!

I'm ready for NOVEMBER!!! I hate this heat - and the electric bills! You need to write a post about all the businesses closing in our area because they can't pay their electric bills!
I'm inspired, you are right. The only positive thing about this heat is that ice is moving.
That is a crazy way to get a luxury pool in your backyard! That's unbelievable.
Sunday night we got 1/2 an inch and I thought ya'll got some, too. No? I was also hoping you got a shot of that sunset...the prettiest hotpink and purples I've ever seen.
correction...it rained friday night because we ate fish at White's fisherman's place. K
It missed our block!
