July 4, 2006, has been very quiet and uneventful around our house today. I don't know what everyone else is doing but we've been very 'laid back' today. I was sitting in the back yard and started looking at the build up of rain clouds. Even though rain has been in the forecast, I haven't given it much thought.
It looks as though God is going to bless my hometown with RAIN! The sound of thunder and the rolling of the clouds gives me assurance that He is on His Throne and has the weather in His control!
1 Samuel 12:18 (NIV)
Then Samuel called upon the Lord, and that same day the Lord sent thunder and rain. So all the people stood in awe of the Lord and of Samuel.

Amos 9:6 (The Message)
God builds his palace--towers soaring high in the skies, foundations set on the rock-firm earth. He calls ocean waters and they come, then he ladles them out on the earth. God, your God, does all this.
Zechariah 10:1
Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; It is the Lord who makes the storm clouds. He gives showers of rain to men, and plants of the field to everyone.

It's to our benefit that we remember the promises God!
It's God's pleasure to reap us with his blessings and it's our duty to thank him for his gracious out pouring!
