Rose-Colored Glasses

In response to Mr. W's comment about 'rose-colored glasses', I guess I'm guilty....to a degree.

Although, when I'm peering through these glasses, I usually have a valid basis for what I see, in spite of what the dictionary has to say about them. (a cheerful or optimistic view of things, usually without valid basis).

The wearing of rose-colored glasses is partly a genetic characteristic of a person's nature but it is also environmentally learned. Through the years, I've learned to be optimistic (most of the time and sometimes "overly") through living with my spouse. I have even accused him of being in the unfortunate group of people that NEVER take their rose-colored glasses off! At least, there are times when I remove them and face the realities of life.

So, Mr. White, as far as my long lasting friendship with certain people is concerned, I feel that years of 'proving' is validity enough for me. I can tell you're well on the road to recovery! What would we do without you? Haven't done anything stupid, have you?

I'll be waiting 'with bated breath' for your next 'off-the-wall' comment!!
