Twenty-nine years ago, on December 16, 1977, we experienced the most devastating wind/sand storm that could be remembered in our lifetime...in Littlefield, Texas.
◙
The date is memorable because it was the eve of our oldest daughter’s wedding. The wedding rehearsal was at 7:00 p.m. , and at 6:00, she was in tears, just ‘knowing’ that her wedding was ruined.
◙
I’ve recalled the events of that day because today, February 24, 2007, has been déjà vu....in Munday, Texas. I jokingly told hubby that the pre-wedding sandstorm must have been symbolic of the turbulent, stormy personalities of the daughter and son-in-law. It just reminds me that even in the worst turbulence, storms do subside and calm.
◙
Yes, this area has been in a high wind warning most of the day but should begin to calm late in the afternoon. ( correction...no, it hasn't been a warning. It has been reality!)
◙
Some might say that God’s Timing for this one was not good. But that remains to be seen. How does a Perfect God have bad timing??
◙
Today was the scheduled Quilt Show of which we are so PROUD.

◙
Pride.
◙
God’s Word teaches us that pride is sinful. Anything that is put before the glory of God is sinful.
◙
There has been much work put in on this Quilt Show. Many people have volunteered many hours to put it together. Is it possible that time was taken from God to do this? I fear that it was. Even with the small amount of work that I did, it took a great deal of time. I kept thinking, “I’ve got to get this done. People are depending on me. I’ve got to get this done!”
◙
When I normally have quiet time and meditation with God, I was using that time to work on the Quilt Show project.
◙
I went to the Elementary School early this morning to see the magnificent transformation…from school to a quilter’s heaven. Yes, it was magnificent!
◙
I’m not a quilter so I’m naturally drawn to the cafeteria where a wonderful meal is served at noon. As usual, it is unrecognizable. The kitchen crew is outstanding and everything was done to perfection.
◙
I pray that God will bless the efforts of all the volunteers and keep us all mindful that this is His Kingdom; He is most Powerful; and that all Glory be awarded to Him....forever and ever.

BEING HUMAN WE ALL AT TIMES ROB GOD'S TIME FOR SOMETHING ELSE EVEN IF WHAT WE'RE DOING IS SOMETHING WORTH WHILE.
