Not A Word Was Spoken

Well, today is Wednesday. I suppose everyone is tired of smiling that sparkly smile from Monday!
.
We were out of town for a couple of days and I've been slow about getting back in the blog mode.
.
I suppose the S-I-L instinctively knew this because he called today to supply me with a little fodder.
.
This morning, he boarded a plane for Houston. Everything went well and the plane landed without a hitch.
.
But Houston wasn't the final destination. He was headed for College Station, Bryan...home of Texas A & M. From Houston he had to board a little 'puddle-jumper' to get to Bryan. This time, they weren't so lucky. They ran into some extremely turbulent weather.
.
He reported that the little plane rocked and rolled, was moved high and low, sideways, backwards, and almost upside down.
.
O.K....maybe I've exaggerated a bit. But he did say it was scary...moreso to some passengers than others. As far as the S-I-L, he doesn't get too excited about anything and takes everything as it's dished out. He figured that as long as he "knows where he's going", he's not fearful of dying.
.
He said that as he looked in the faces of the other passengers, he could almost hear all the promises going up to God. "Oh, God! Please get us off this plane safely. I PROMISE I'll do better!"
.
"Dear God, PLEASE help me out of this jam and I PROMISE I'll teach that Sunday School class"!
.
"God...I promise....I promise....I promise!
.
S-I-L asked what my guess would be at the percentage of people that have made this same plea. My answer to him was, "Oh.....I would say about 100%!"
.
That 100%, of course, would have to include myself. How about you? Are you part of that percentage, or am I wrong?
.
He was pretty sure that at least 10 people were saved by the grace of God and 20 more re-dedicated their lives to God during this frightful flight....just judging by the looks on faces!
.
And, not a word was spoken!

I've been on a plane ride like that. Just me, a chicken, and the pilot when I was 13 yrs old over Alaska. Very scarey, made me rethink a few decisions and say a few prayers!
