Fair Fare-Chapter 2

A few weeks ago, a blogger called Dorky Dad, posted about a "near death experience" of eating fair food. He, his wife, and The Boy had just spent the day at the Minnesota State Fair. He is so funny in his account of the fair.
.
Chapter 2 of our Labor Day weekend has to do with fair food. I'm not nearly as creative with words as DD so I'll enhance my post with the pictures I took.
.
No, we didn't go to a State Fair but the resemblance of Yoakam County Watermelon Festival and the Texas State Fair is very close...as far as the food vendors were concerned.
.
As I sat taking pictures of strange people, eating all this disgusting, fat-laden stuff, I wondered if I could be sued for violation of their privacy.
.
Privacy? That's a laugh! Three or four thousand people crammed into a 2 block area could be called anything but private.
.
We had a great time, and yes, we all indulged in the potato curls and funnel cakes! What would a festival be without them?
.
The first picture is the only one of a person that I actually know. He is the grandfather of the
S-I-L. Grandpa J is 90-plus years and loving every minute and every bite of that yummy food! He was having a great time!

The other pictures are just random, (cropped, of course) pictures that I snapped of people while they were eating.

When we left the Festival that afternoon, we were all STARVING to death. On our way out of town, the S-I-L had a 'caloric' suggestion to make. "Why not stop by the Sonic and complete the destruction of our arterial systems?"
.
To finish off the day, we had banana splits and Sonic Blasts!
.
We had to hurry home so we could eat more of the "fatted calf" that had been cooked on the grill!
.
What a day!
.
Oh, our tum-tums!
