Blow, Wind, Blow...

"Blow, blow, thou winter wind,
Thou art not so unkind
As man's ingratitude;
Thy tooth is not so keen
Because thou art not seen,
Although thy breath be rude.
Heigh-ho! sing heigh-ho! unto the green holly:
Most friendship is feigning, most loving mere folly:
Then, heigh-ho! the holly!
This life is most jolly."

William Shakespeare

On occasion, we are asked to help out with transportation to and from doctors appointments for our little friends who are unable to take themselves. Today is one of those blessed days.

The little woman we are driving is very special to me. Her daughter and I were best friends in 4th and 5th grade. Then the family moved to another community, and being young children, we carried on with our lives and lost contact.

I can remember Jonnie always wanting to be a writer. She never established celebrity status as a writer but her last position as an adult was editor of a newspaper in a Texas metroplex. Jonnie was a diabetic and she passed away much too early in life in my human way of thinking.

But, I digress.

The appointment is at 1:00 p.m. which means we'll be leaving at the height (or near the height) of the wind speed.

So....blow, wind, blow; carry us where you may...just as long as we get to our destination and home again!

"Then, heigh-ho! the holly! This life is most jolly."

Drive safely! What a blessing that you can do this for your neighbours.

Thanks for taking care of your neighbors. That is something I don't see happening in the area where I live here in California, what I see around me is neighbors destroying the neighborhood.

Have a productive weekend.

inspired, great post...I lost a very special fried, today, She was 70 years young. Heart just stopped working and she collaped, a minute later she was gone. How blessed we are to be able to help others when we can. When we called to give our condolances, I said we will pray for you over our loss. He broke down and thank me for doing so....Thanks for being you.....stay well.....

tim: Thank you for the safe driving
wishes! It is not 6:30 p.m and we're home safe and sound. We had a nice, windy trip!

cfs: Living in a small, rural area like ours, I tend to forget that everyone is not as fortunate...to live like large families who take care of each other.

tap: It's difficult to lose a friend but from what you said, that's the way I would choose to go...suddenly and without a lingering ailment. God was generous in taking her in that manner. Bless you and your's...

Maria
Maria
They call the wind Maria

Away out here they got a name
For rain and wind and fire
The rain is Tess, the fire Joe,
And they call the wind Maria

Maria blows the stars around
And sends the clouds a’flyin’
Maria makes the mountains sound
Like folks were up there dying

Maria
Maria
They call the wind Maria

Before I knew Maria’s name
And heard her wail and whinin’
I had a girl and she had me
And the sun was always shinin’

But then one day I left my girl
I left her far behind me
And now I’m lost, so gone and lost
Not even God can find me

Maria
Maria
They call the wind Maria

Out here they got a name for rain
For wind and fire only
But when you’re lost and all alone
There ain’t no word but lonely

And I’m a lost and lonely man
Without a star to guide me
Maria blow my love to me
I need my girl beside me

Maria
Maria
They call the wind Maria

Maria
Maria!
Blow my love to me
