At least I will be away from the Florida Primary for a few hours. If it weren't for 'extra-curricular' activities of volunteerism, I would by now be a permanent attachment on the television screen (probably in the form of a fat blob) channeled to MSNBC, the politics place!
Weather report for the day:
A WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON. A COLD FRONT MOVING ACROSS THE REGION THIS MORNING WILL BRING STRONG NW WINDS TO THE AREA. WITH THE PASSAGE OF THE COLD FRONT THE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO GUST TO 40 TO 50 MPH THROUGH MID AFTERNOON. THE WIND SPEEDS WILL GRADUALLY DECREASE BY LATE THIS AFTERNOON.
(9:00 a.m update on the sky in NC Texas)

I hope the report is correct in that the winds will decrease this afternoon. At 3:20 p.m., I will be standing outside at the elementary school, corraling about 20 hyperactive, excited, sometimes weepy, tired from a long day at school, children; waiting for the church bus to transport them to the church for their weekly, after-school hour of christian fun, singing, Bible story, snacks, and any surprise that may occur. And, believe me, when there are 40-50 children involved, surprises can happen in a flash!
Looks as though we may need to look for a little humor to see us through the day!

"The pastor called all the children up to the front for the weekly Bible story. Little Jimmy listened intently to the story of Lot. The pastor said, "The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city, but his wife looked back and was turned to salt." Very concerned, Jimmy asked, "What happened to the flea?""

In my best Texas drawl...

Maybe the wind could blow You EAST. I admire you for Your work with the children, for it may be the only way they can get the word.
God is good,All the time
hahaha...i needed the humor 4 sure! And thanx for depressing me about the wind advisory...cuz i'm one of those that drives the church van. And if my memory recollects...the other driver will be absent today!

Thanks for the weather report, and all the bad weather we had during the weekend is now making its way to the central part of the United States. We took a whipping here on the West Coast during the WET and WINDY weekend, and we have a couple of nasty storms coming down from the North Pacific and heading this way.
Have a nice TEXAS evening.
cfs
I voted - have you?
hee hee...a flea...
Sounds like a nice day! It's great to see someone volunteering with children and bringing them closer to the Lord. I'll pray for your work there!
Loved the joke!
Inspired, Have a dusty day....and as far as the children are concerned, At the very least.....the children know there is a God and he had a son whose name was Jesus.....stay well.....
crabby: We recently had a Power Team Youth Crusade here. I should have posted about it but that was just one of the things "I shoulda done but didn't". Anyway, during alter call, cards were given out to the kids for their home and religious information. On the blank where it asked "what church do you go to?" many of the kids put Faith Weaver Friends..the name of the after-school ministry that they attend. You're right...that's the only "church" they know. It touched my heart.
tammie: See? God took care of everything!! Why be depressed?
anon: The way the wind was blowing, there could have been 2 or 3 prairie dogs digging!
cfs: West Coast has had it's share of weather (and fires!!) Stay strong...
ALR: yeah....a flea! heehee
sharon: Thanks for your prayers!
tapline: We have an awesome youth minister that is such a lover of Jesus! It would amaze you to hear what some of these kids know about Jesus and the Love of God. It is inspiring!! Yes...and we have another windy dusty day scheduled for tomorrow!
