Once or twice a year we have to go visit our doctors to get "numbers" checked. We dislike CHANGE ( get the political jab?), so we drive 2 1/2 hours to see the doctors that we've gone to for years. Of course, in the event of an emergency, which we've had a couple of times, we begin with our local Doc and then go from there.
And too, it gives me a chance to visit with my sister who I don't get to see often enough to suit me!
Another side stop: Hubs has to make a visit to the VA to get his name "in the clear". I started to post about this a couple of weeks ago but never got it done. I won't go into details but there is "someone" cripping around that has used his name and social security number to have prosthetic surgery....an artificial leg. This was done in year 2000 and we're just now finding out about it. Go figure....
Anyway, dear readers, we'll be leaving this morning and will return on Wednesday. Have a good week!
Until I post again....
Inspired: : Crabby, what do you call a person who keeps on talking when people are no longer interested?

Thanks for the post and that issue with VA hospitals [and other military hospitals] bothers the heck out of me, how can the VA allow something like stolen identity to happen in their hospitals [well, after using the VA for the past 15 months I can see how it can happen]. Good luck with the medical check ups and have a productive TEXAS week.

We will miss you terribly!
Oh, my gosh...you'd think the VA would have some better way of verifying identity!!!
What? I worked in the banking industry for six years before I became a mother. Sadly, I saw how devastating it can be when folks are victims of identity theft. However, I have never even heard of someone stealing your identity to get a prosthetic leg! Goodness! I am sorry. I hope Crabby doesn't have too hard of a time getting it cleared up. When it comes to your credit report and financial stuff, its a nightmare to clear up.
I guess this is why when I went to my OBGYN's office last summer, the nurses took a digital photo of me to include in my file.
Good Luck with the medical check-up. Have a great week.
I'm new to your blog, please feel welcomed to come and visit mine.

I've known her husband 35 years & didn't know until I read this that he had a peg leg.LOL
I sure hear you about the talking when no one is listening!
That stinks about the social. I had someone use mine once when I was out of the country on my mission. We had to convince the IRS I was a missionary-not a truck driver in Florida!
Have a good trip - I hope it all goes well for you both. Good luck sorting out the extra leg. My mind boggles at that one!
