Old Movie Afternoon

Yes, I know I'm dating myself. But my age is no secret.

This has been one of those 'old movie' afternoons. One of my favorite movies was aired today....The Breakfast Club (1985)

If only people could learn a lesson from this teen flick! No matter the background, social standing, or popularity , differences can be overcome and friendships obtained.

I'm assuming all of you know the details for the detention of these five teenagers. The reasons are hilarious and yet, so poignant.

Taglines for this movie have been:

☺They only met once, but it changed their lives forever.

☺They were five total strangers, with nothing in common, meeting for the first time: a brain, a beauty, a jock, a criminal, and a basketcase. Before the day was over, they broke the rules, bared their souls, and touched each other in a way they never dreamed possible.

☺Five strangers with nothing in common, except each other.

In my pollyanna way of thinking, isn't this the way life should be?

Good evening from sunny West Coast USofA [it is hot today here in the so called Americas Finest City]. In ref to your [closing] question, YES this is the way life should be. Have a productive Texas weekend.

I love that movie - it has been a favourite of mine for so many years. Life should definitely be that way

I'm probably more willing to watch a good, old movie rather than the stuff they make today...

janie: Thanks for the visit. There are very few movies that I feel should be labeled as a classic, but "The Breakfast Club" is one of them.

tim: Definitely some lessons to be learned from that movie...tolerance and acceptance to name a couple. Thanks for the visit.

Buff: I hate to admit this but the old movies are the only ones we 'understand'.

crabby: At least, delirium is usually a temporary condition where insanity is permanent.
