Truth: Better Than Fiction

Wild Hogs aren't my usual topic!
I don't know much about wild hogs. But I do know that this area has been infiltrated by them; according to the local morning coffee drinkers at Quality Implement and the afternoon coffee drinkers at the Dairy Queen.

.
I was busy catching up on the laundry that I've ignored for the past week when Hubs came bouncing in demanding I get my camera and come with him. Not being much in the mood for fun and games, I began to balk.

.
He promised we wouldn't be gone long and I wouldn't see a living soul.

.
So. Where did we go? Outside of town about 1/2 mile to a pen of cattle with two wild hogs co-existing with the cattle!

.
Hubs wanted a pictorial record of proof of the wild, fantastic stories he was already conjuring up in his mind!

"In 20 years, the feral hog population has grown to more than 2 million head across Texas and has wreaked havoc on property, livestock, crops and pastures to the tune of $52 million statewide in annual economic damage, said Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples."

"The wild hogs are as prolific as cockroaches, destructive as rats, and as surly as badgers. The dirt-slingin' critters roam free in Texas, rooting up pastures and fences, wallowing in creekbeds, and gorging themselves on crops and gardens," said Dr. Bob Hillman, Texas' state veterinarian.

.
Oh, My Goodness! We have to get these feral hogs in control!!!
.
Guess I'm making light of a serious thing, but it was kind of funny to see these two wild hogs meandering around among the cows.

.
As the S-I-L just said in a telephone conversation the other night, "Truth is always better than fiction!"

Here's wishing all of you a dry, windy, Texas weekend! Peace to your house...

LOL! I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the pictures! Only in Knox County would we see this picture. And I pray it starts raining again. That's been my prayer recently for more rain. And it's nonstop too.
