Tagline from the movie "Sisters" (1991)
The men in your life may leave you,
The men in your life may leave you,
Children grow up, parents pass away.
The only ones who are there for you,
From cradle to grave,
Are your sisters.
"To the outside world we all grow old. But not to sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time." ~Clara Ortega
I have three sisters. In some ways, we are all very much alike but the differences far outweigh the sameness. But we love each other. The sister that I see and visit most frequently is the closest to my age. There is just 2 years difference. My oldest sister is 5 years older than me. She was certain that she would be the only child (even at 5 years of age!) and when I came along, she wished that I would go away!!
The third of us girls came along 2 years after me. We grew up together and because of our closeness in age, had more in common.
The fourth girl came along 8 years later. (If my calculations are correct. ) Being the "baby of the family" and such a wide range of age difference, she was always the "pet".
I had my Sister-Fix this week....Monday thru Wednesday morn. This sister is the closest in proximity and age...the one that I grew up with. We always have a great time when we get together, even though we don't do anything adventurous or exciting. Mainly we just sit and talk, catching up on all the news that we know.
Though I'm not much of a wine drinker, every time we get together, we always have wine in the afternoon. This time, dear hubby made some crack about it and M said..."Just don't worry about it....it's just a sister-thing!!"

Then she was reminded of a scene in some movie about 2 sisters getting together and discussing some major problem. In the scene, they were sitting in a playpen, drinking wine!! I had also seen the movie and remembered that one scene. But neither of us could remember the name of the movie or who starred in it. (or how long ago)
See? We're both beginning to get a little age on us!!
We spent over an hour, searching on Google and ask.com, trying to find this movie. I even called the Trivia King, the son-in-law. He thought it might be "Ya-Ya Sisterhood" but the one we're looking for is an older movie.

If any of you remember this scene from what movie, please LET ME KNOW!! Hubby remarked that next time we got together he would supply the playpen for us to sit in....IF he could find one that strong!
Until, next time, Sister!!
By the way...the picture of Sisters is a feeeeewww years old! But we're still all fairly presentable!!

welcome back!!!
missed ya! love the pic. you were and still are a hottie!
Welcome Home! My sister, Mary Lu was the middle child of 5. She use to ask mother, "Don't you wish you just had one child and it was me?" We still laugh about that. She was always under mother's skirt tail even though I was the baby. I lost a sister when I was 25 and she was 35. I think that made ML and I just that much closer because of that loss. Love those "Siestas" as Beth Moore would say on her blog http://livingproofministries.blogspot.com/
You all look good, inspired! :-)
I know what you mean... being here at uni, I miss my brother... he's 2 years younger than me, and we're very good friends... :-)
4 BABES & ALL APPEAR TO BE KEEPERS.I would have made a good sister as long as the fruit of the vine held out.
It sounds like you had a wonderful time. As you know I have 3 sisters, 5yrs between us, except baby sis, mum went a whole 10yrs that time. I know the film, but can I heck as like remember the title, if I find out I will be back. Cheers HIC!
