I goofed.
Yes...we had our Veteran's Day Program and I didn't get any pictures! I was a "pinch-hitter" on the program and wasn't where I could take pictures. You'll just have to take my word for it...The day was beautiful, we had a terrific turnout, and an inspiring program.
So.
I'll advance to my next impulsive post!
A couple of years ago, I registered with dictionary.com to receive a Word of the Day. Every morning when I turn on my computer, there it is: the Word of the Day. Most times, the word is familiar but not one that is used in everyday conversation....or, at least, MY everyday conversation! I often think.."Maybe I'll start using this word." But more often than not, the word is deleted and forgotten..."out of sight, out of mind".
The other morning, the word was one that definitely caught my eye:
horripilation
I had never seen the word or heard the word! (I'm sure it's not the ONLY one) On impulse, I sent the word, with it's definition, to several people in my address book, asking them to make a sentence using the word and send it back to me. I told them I would use their sentences in a blog post and I also PROMISED that I wouldn't publish their name with their comment.
Well....knowing who sent the sentences makes it hilarious. I hope you find this to be as much fun as I have. If you have your own sentence, leave it on a comment and I'll post it!
Only on #7 did I post a "side comment". (which happens to be my sister)
Number 11 got on a roll and sent 3 sentences! Then the same person (#15) changed words and sent 2 more sentences.
I've had such good response from this weird post, I might try it again sometime.

I used to get that "word of the day" too ... and each day I would try to use the new word hoping I could improve my vocabulary. However the guys at the Stockman got where they wouldn't let me sit at the liars table cause I was being "high-brow"!
You to clever for me!!!
Clever post, Inspired.
I forgot to mention I'm still suffering from horripilation since Obama became the president elect. It will probably go on for the next four years!
