Most of us have given up the unrealistic plan of making New Year's Resolutions. I gave it up several years ago. I always had good intentions and realized the need for change but there was always some kind of breakdown by the end of the first week.
I don't believe that we shouldn't realize our needs for improvement and keep striving for them, but as for as making a "list" and "resolving", maybe that's not the answer.
If anyone is interested, I recieved a list of NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS YOU CAN KEEP! Of course, this came from MikeysFunnies.com....where else? I just hope we don't take it seriously and comply with some of the resolves.
Are you sick of making the same resolutions year after year that you never keep? Why not promise to do something you can ACTUALLY accomplish? Here are some resolutions that you can use as a starting point:
~ Gain weight. At least 30 pounds.
~ Stop exercising. Waste of time.
~ Read less. Makes you think.
~ Watch more TV. I've been missing some good stuff.
~ Procrastinate more. Starting tomorrow.
~ Spend more time at work, surfing the web.
~ Take a vacation to someplace important, like to see the world's largest ball of twine.
~ Jump off a cliff just because everyone else did.
~ Stop bringing lunch from home--eat out more.
~ Get in a whole NEW rut!
~ Start being superstitious.
~ Speak in a monotone voice and only use monosyllabic words.
~ Only wear jeans that are 2 sizes too small and use a chain or rope for a belt.
~ Spend my summer vacation in cyberspace.
~ Create loose ends
.~ Get more toys
.~ Get further in debt
.~ Break at least one traffic law.
~ Spread out priorities beyond the ability to keep track of them.
~ Wait for opportunity to knock.
~ Focus on the faults of others.
~ Mope about faults.
~ Never make New Year's resolutions again.
What is your plan for improvement? Plans for a "quick change"? or...a deep-seated, motivating need for change that requires dedication and a faith beyond your own abilities?
Peace to your household...

Hi Jackie, i just wanted to let you know that Terri did deliver your message and thank you for it.
TME: I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't get a comment to post on your blog. One of your readers, Clay, has the same comment format as you, so I used him as an "experiment". He probably thinks I'm a noodle-head! Anyway...he has two options that you don't have for commenting; Name/URL and Anonymous. I finally got a comment to be saved on both of those options. Geez...I hope he doesn't post them!! But I'll get it figured out soon...Thanks for stopping by...
You are funny!
I dont make resolutions either.
I love your dogs, what are their names?
Frasypoo: Only one of the dogs is ours....Butch, the Beagle. The other two were visiting over the Thanksgiving holidays...Bentley and Beauregard. I post a lot about Butch...you'll be seeing more of him...

I made only one resolution, Inspired. I resolved to go easier on Obama than the left was on President Bush. Now that's one resolution that should be easy to keep! :)
perfect...gaining weight?..ha
One thing I don't want to hear again is CHANGE. I don't want a change,,,,I want things the way they were and no change......I dread the thought of change for the sake of change and I don't like it. As far as a resoulution,,,,I just resolve to make it better....what,,,I don't know....stay well......
