When I was young I would hear older people make the statement, "My! Time is passing so quickly! It just seems like yesterday that...blah...blah....blah...."
At the time my thought was, "Where in the world are you coming from? Time drags, and drags, and drags. There is no end to 'time'."
As years creep up on me, one by one, I've begun to realize what these dear people were talking about. Yes, time is flying by. It just seems like yesterday that....blah....blah....blah....
The other morning, in the meandering of my mind, between the state of awake and still wanting to stay in bed, I began to think about this subject of time.
I began to play with the idea that a day can be compared to a year. While lying in bed that morning, I began to think of morning and facing a new day could be compared to the season of Spring. Spring brings on new life, new vision, new hopes, and new dreams just as the beginning of each new day. I finally arise, begin the routine of preparing for a new day.
By 8:00 or 9:00, I'm in full swing; busying around, doing what needs to be done, enjoying the burst of energy that abounds. Some may write out check lists of things to checked off as they're completed. Others may complete their chores at random. I'm a 'random' sort of person.
Ooops! It's lunch time! Time to recharge myself with a little sustenance. I can then feel a lapse in my energy level and I begin to move a little slower.
1:00 until around 4:00 could be compared to the season of Summer. Lazy summer. Naps. Refreshing drinks. Piddling at random.
And then comes the season of Fall...4:00 - 8:00; a winding down and putting all thoughts of accomplishing anything out of your mind. Maybe curl up with a favorite book; and to satisfy a gnawing of hunger pain, another trip to the kitchen.
Winter! Time to shut down and go into hibernation. Pajama time. T.V. News time. CSI time. And, if I'm lucky and don't fall asleep, David Letterman.
Wow! A whole year passing in the time frame of a day. Only would a person over the age of 60 begin to understand this element of passing time. But it's real.
There are many people (myself included) who are worried and stressed over the problems of our nation and the leadership that we have. It wouldn't be so difficult if our leadership could act in accordance for the good of our nation but as of this writing, it gets worse. We need to remember our heritage and that we are survivors....and time passes.
I happened to be reading in Isaiah and found comfort in these words:
Isaiah 40:23-34 (New International Version)
23 He brings princes to naught
and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.
24 No sooner are they planted,
no sooner are they sown,
no sooner do they take root in the ground,
than he blows on them and they wither,
and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.
So...I admonish you, my readers, to persevere and hang together in our troubling times. Stand shoulder to shoulder with arms linked.
Time passes...
Peace to your household...

Trust me, you don't need to be in your 60's to think of a day like that - I've been thinking like that since I was about 29 - every year flies faster and faster, in line with every day. I wouldn't change it for the world though.
LOL...
when I was a little girl...
"piddling" was going to the bathroom... LOL..
My little grandma used to say..
"Okay girls... go piddle before you go to bed!"
Ecc 4:15 I saw that all who lived and walked under the sun followed the youth, the king’s successor.
Ecc 4:16 There was no end to all the people who were before them. But those who came later were not pleased with the successor. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
IF WE'RE GOING TO BE LINKED ,I WANT TO BE BETWEEN TO GOOD LOOKING WOMAN.
