A Message via Healthy Harvest

Come September.

Almost a year past.

We were having a Revival at our church and planning many meals for the Revival Team.

It was my turn to contribute to a noon meal and I was in a really, really bad mood! Our whole world had seemingly turned upside down and regardless of the latest political hype…I DON’T LIKE CHANGE!…unless it benefits me, of course.

I started gathering ingredients for one of my super-quick fruit cobblers. I told my husband…”Guess I’ll use the last of our good peaches from the freezer”. Oh, MY! Wrong choice.
His reply: “NO! Don’t use our good peaches. Use this can of fruit I bought at Dollar General.”

He opened the cabinet door and drug out this can of California Healthy Harvest Fruit Mix.

I grabbed my can opener to open the can and as it turned, I happened to look at the bottom of the nutrition label and noticed something way down in the corner. It couldn’t be what it looked like….a bible scripture!!
To make sure, I went to find my “spectacles” and sure nuff, there at the bottom of the label was printed Prov. 3:6.

I knew exactly what that verse said because it is the same verse we teach the children, in song, that attend our Hiz Kiz Outreach Ministry:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

People….this wasn’t the first time I had used this fruit. But it IS the first time my eyes landed on that portion of the label.

Coincidence? No!

When God is in the mix anything can happen. My attitude suddenly improved and guess what? I still carry that label, tucked between coffee stained pages of my Bible.

Yep….I still get grumpy. I still need attitude adjustments. I still have pity parties. But every time I see that fruit mix label, I’m reminded Who makes my paths straight.

In the words of John the Apostle:

"The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen"
