"Cotton Pickin' Quilt Show"

What a wonderful day we had on Saturday, February 24!! This was the day of our 11th Annual "COTTON PICKIN' QUILT SHOW". To start the day off with a blessing, it began to RAIN about 9:00 a.m. Isn't the smell of rain invigorating after a long period of dryness? Everyone attending the Show seemed to be so happy and in such good spirits! It was a great day.
The picture above is one of the place mats that was used at the COTTON PICKIN' CAFE. What a unique idea!! Every year, the menu is the same so those attending know what to expect and anticipate. This year is the first year that the recipes have been made public and were printed on the reverse side of the place mat. Another unique idea!!
The decorations were the best ever. Walking down the hall of the elementary school was like a walk 'back in time'.

The Quilt Show is always held in the gymnasium of the elementary school. What a sight to behold! Quilts of every description and age is displayed. The quilt below is of special interest to me for it was made by the woman whose house I now live. There is a lot of history among the Huckabee/Reddell/Phillips families. I feel a part of them because I'm fortunate enough to live in their house built in 1924!

This young woman is the daughter of Iva Reddell that made the quilt, 75 years ago. Jeannette is a dear friend and she is standing in front of the quilt that she made many years ago. Many of you Readers from Munday will remember her.

Oh, my! There are so many pictures and memories to share. I may have to share them in another post at a later time. Thank you for taking the time to look at my post! It's rewarding to know that I'm sharing a part of my life with those that are outside the Munday area.

Until next post...God Bless!
