Visit to "The Castle"

The Castle

We had a great trip to see the grandchildren and mom/dad. There is never a dull moment in their 'castle'. I say castle because the grandchildren are such 'pretenders' and love to dress up in costumes. Our little girl is enthralled with Princess Aurora. She and her brother have all sorts of dress-ups that depict royalty. So from this point forward, I dub the granddaughter Princess Aurora, and the grandson Prince Philip. Mom and Dad, of course, are King and Queen.

Our first night there, I went with Queen to "Frozen in Thyme". This is an incredible place where you prepare dinners to be taken home for the freezer until needed. The recipe is in front of you, everything has been previously prepared for you to put the entree together; no chopping, no dicing, no guessing. All condiments are there with the measuring spoons, cups, etc. And, best of all....NO CLEAN UP!! All dinners are prepared in aluminum foil pans and ziploc bags, ready to put in the freezer. In about an hour and a half, we had 10 meals prepared! What a blessing for busy, working parents! It's a way of having the best of two worlds.

The next day, we all took a shopping trip to buy jeans for Prince Philip. We went to Cavender's and had a wonderful time.

Of course, you can't go shopping without buying more than what you were going after. Aurora ended up with boots, belt, and hat....all in PINK!

Prince Phillip got his new jeans PLUS belt and boots (all in black). He was promised the hat for his upcoming birthday.

With this part of our family living in such a 'distant land' (Houston) we don't get to see them as often as we would like. The only consolation is that that they have a Love for Home and we all stay connected.

God Bless you,
King, Queen, Aurora and Philip!
