In a recent 3 day stay in the hospital, Hubby H received this beautiful bouquet of flowers from our daughter and her husband. He has been so proud of these flowers!
They are now two weeks old and should have been disposed of several days ago but H just can't let them go! He even added the roses from our rose bush to try to 'perk' up the bouquet.

His unwillingness to 'let go' is indicative of his sweet nature. He's that way, not only with inanimate things but also in his human relationships. If he loves a person and counts that person important to his life, he can be used, abused, trampled on, spit upon...and he doesn't even remember!
♫
And isn't that the way God handles 'His' relationships? We all start out new, bright, and perky just like the bouquet of flowers. Then through our forgetfulness of His goodness and not putting Him first and foremost in our lives, we begin to lose our freshness, begin to wither and soon show the ugliness of bare stems.
♫
But God's Word says that if we admit and confess our failings to Him....Guess what?? He remembers them no more!!

Yeah....I'm kind of a "heap burning coals on head" kind of person, also.
Sounds like your husband is a really kindhearted man!
Mr. Mayhem is also sweet, especially when it comes to his children!
I hope he is feeling better!
