I suppose it's time to get back into the blog mode!
We've had a day and a half to recuperate from our Labor Day, 3 Day Weekend!
We had a wonderful visit with our daughter and the S-I-L, plus getting to be with the two grand daughters, both, at the same time! This was a special treat for us. The girls are grown and busy doing their 'own thing'. Aggie K is 25 and Little Star is 19. Being sisters of a 6 year age difference, they have been "trying out their wings" and have had a difficult time relating to each other.
On Friday evening, they wanted their mom to prepare their most favorite food dish---macaroni and cheese. Now, mind you, they don't eat the box kind that comes with the package of powdered cheese. They want what they call, the real thing; large elbow or shell macaroni, cheddar cheese that you shred (NOT the pre-shredded cheese in packages!) and, of course, NOT Cheeze Whiz or Velveeta! Also, for this wonderful mac/cheese dish, you have to use butter (not marjarine) and at least 2% milk (certainly not skim!).
Well, somewhere in the communication or translation of said communication, the two sisters were the lucky chefs!
Hubs and I just sat back and enjoyed watching the girls working together to create this masterpiece of eatable art! The whole cooking episode was so reminiscent of their younger years.
Even though they're young , they, just as other young people all over the world, have already experienced "irons" in their lives. But AggieK and Little Star have much going for them....loving parents, grandparents, great-grandfather, aunts, uncles, cousins. Family! That's what it's all about.
I believe that with family support and the gracious love of God, their irons will soon begin to float. At least, that's my prayer.
Next post....Chapter Two of Labor Day Weekend!
