Always Be Prepared!

A few weeks ago, on one of our road trips, we were toot-tootling down the highway when I saw a sight I had never seen before.
.
Being the good blogger that I am, I almost ALWAYS have my camera with me....like a good boy scout, always be prepared!
.
.
This huge flock of white birds was following the tractor and would mass in the freshly turned soil. I'm assuming they were having their meal for the day...picking up the upturned worms, insects, and bugs. When the tractor moved farther away, they would walk/fly to the next freshly turned soil. Since we were on the highway, I couldn't tell exactly what they were doing!
.
But what do I know? I sure don't know birds. The best guess we can make as to the kind of birds they were are ibis or egrets.
I wish I could have gotten a closer shot of them but from a highway, shooting over barbed-wire fences, this is the best I could do!
Anyway, just another interesting day in the life of an amateur photographer and blogger with nothing else to post!
"Feed the birds, tuppence a bag,
Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag."

I wish I would have had a camera 2 days ago. I live in a water/sewer hooked up to city neighborhood, not rural, but some wildlife occasionally. I have lived here on this street for 28 yrs. I came around a bend, and a turkey vulture was eating some road kill. I have never seen one of these birds in W.Michigan EVER! I knew our economy was bad in this State, but even the vultures are showing up now....

I don't know what kind of birds they were ... except that they were smart! Imagine having the farmer do all the work and picking the worms off the ground instead of having to dig for them ... brilliant!
