In Luke 10:5, Jesus is instructing His messengers in the protocol of visiting and talking with people. He tells them, "When you enter a house, first say, Peace to this house."
Every time you click on For the Love of Home, you are inviting me into your home. I've considered myself to be somewhat a messenger of God's Word so, I say to you...
Peace to your house.
I have been thinking about the concept of "War".
When you hear or read the word "war" what do you think? For the most part, most people are immediately thinking Iraq, Afghanistan, Desert Storm, Korea, Viet Nam, WW II. They conjure up thoughts of physical combat, and more recently, acts of terrorism and nuclear power.
In my simple way of thought, the world is at war as I write. Every country, every societal structure, every political structure, every religious structure, every sector of life is at war...to maintain what they hold to be dear to them, or what is important to them at the moment, whether it be righteous or wicked and demoralizing.
People are even at war within themselves...to know what to accept or what to try to change by physical action.
Ideas.
Ideals.
Morality.
Family Structure.
What do you hold dear to your way of life? What changes are you willing to accept and for what are you willing to try to make a physical change?
Again I say...
Peace to your house.

My family and my friends. They are the big things that I will fight for. They are the most important part of my life, and they are not negotiable. I will fight to avoid causing hurt and pain to others, although I know there are times I can do it without thinking or knowing. The idea of doing what feels right, even when it is the harder choice. The right to speak freely.
Wow - and I thought I would need to think about this one.
Thanks for a morning thought provoker.
Inspired, YOu have done it again....Made me think!...I don't like that....Unfortunately we are in a fight for our very survival and it is on two fronts. A war for our God and way of life and an economic war of survival when our nation will not protect us from illegal immigrants syphoning our dollars to Mexico. I do not begrudge them for trying to better themselves, but try legally or throu work programs which can be made up government to government. I ramble,,,,stay well.....
crabby: Your comment makes me smile! The small 'wars' in our own homes can be challenging. As far as the 'diet war', yep! we can all attest to that! Peace to your household...
tim: When you stop and think about it, you don't have to think long or hard...to know what you'll fight for!! Thanks for your 'as usual' wonderful comment. Peace to your household...
tap: Thanks for your visit, again! You have a way of 'making me think' also. I'm pretty naive, but even I can see that our nation is being taken down the proverbial'garden path' by our government leadership. It leaves me stymied, not knowing what to do (if anything) or what to say that will make a difference. Peace to your household...
You always calm my heart, inspired (although sometimes you stir it, to do the things I should :-))
eve: When there are warm, receptive hearts such as your's involved...it's an easy task.
Peace to your household...
