Uniqueness...Keeps You Guessing!

Yesterday, December 22 was our 53rd Anniversary.  My, how time flies when you're having a good time!  Just kidding, just kidding.

We haven't always had a 'good time' but that's how it goes in a marriage....ups and downs and in-betweens.  I'm just very thankful that hubby and I have stuck it out through all the trials that somehow are part of a marriage....any marriage.  And, if anyone ever says different...it's wise to question it.

After our 25th Anniversary, we figured we had gotten past the giving of anniversary gifts and have just been satisfied with a dinner out...or something maybe even less significant than that.

We spent half the day yesterday in a doctor's office, getting my recent eye surgery approval.  And, yes, all is well and I've been dismissed...for the time being.  We had planned to have lunch out but instead...guess what?  We stopped by a grocery store, bought a frozen pizza, brought it home, and that was our "lunch out."

When we got home, hubby, with a sheepish grin on his face said,......"Well, I wasn't going to tell you early but "I did" get you a present.

Oh my gosh!  I'm with him on every shopping trip he  takes and know his shopping habits.  What to expect?  What to expect?

Even knowing him and the sometimes strange things he does, I NEVER expected what he brought in...1954 through 1959 High School annuals!!

Yes...he had been downtown on one of his excursions and stopped by Clint's Pack Rat and purchased this unique gift!

We've had a great time looking at them and reminiscing about high school days.

Sounds like a charming gift. Don't ever feel like you've missed anything by living a whole life with the same wonderful man, in the same wonderful town. Never question wonderful.

I'm reminded of what one of my fathers employees said of the Vietnam war. He had a physical deferment. He said he'd heard so much about it, he didn't think he'd missed a thing.
